Moms are great - Giveaway!

GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED. WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED MONDAY.

UPDATE: By happy accident, I found out that sewmamasew.com is hosting a giveaway day this week. Head over to enter to win a ton of great prizes!

In honor of Mother's day this coming weekend, I wanted to give a shout out to my mom, Laurie. She has always been my very best girlfriend, although now that I have my spunky little girl there is a bit of competition. She has always been a great listener, whether it was talking about boys at recess, friends in high school, or now my own kids, she is always willing to listen. She always made an effort to be at all my dance recitals and cheerleading competitions while growing up. She never misses a birthday or holiday for me, my husband or our 4 kids. She was even at my bedside when I woke up in the ICU on the same day that she had surgery to have her breast cancer removed. She does all of this times 7! Seven of us kids have been blessed enough to get to have her as a mom. She truly is so amazing.
Since this picture, we've added 4 new baby girls,
one son in law and one daughter in law.
I absolutely love being a mom and can't imagine my life any other way but being a mom isn't always easy, we don't often put our wants before our kids and sometimes it's fun to have something that's just for us, so I thought it would be fun to do a little giveaway for all you moms, aunts, sisters, and women!
I couldn't decide which fabric line I liked better, so I just got them both. We all do this, right? So you get to decide which bundle is your favorite plus we will give you a gift certificate up to $100 for long arm quilting!
To enter the giveaway all you need to do is leave us a comment letting us know what you love most about your mom or about being a mom. Easy as that! You can tell me which fabric you like better too if you want.
Existing and new followers can get an extra entry by following my blog on bloglovin. Just come back and leave a comment letting me know that you've done so.
Also, don't forget to leave an email address or some way for us to contact you if you win. Giveaway will be open until midnight on Friday.

And for the month of May we will be offering 20% off of our long arm quilting services! So now is the time to get some quilting done at an ever better price. Just email us at ChocolateDippedQuilts@gmail.com to get started.

Also, I just signed up to use bloglovin and so far I am lovin it! Feel free to follow my blog by clicking on the link on my right sidebar or by clicking here.

For me, the BEST part of being a mom is hearing my kids laugh. Whether it's at "SpongeBob" (even though I'm not a fan) or something funny that happens when we're together, hearing them laugh is just a major highlight for me-- always! Just doesn't get old. Both fabric bundles are great, but I love "Type" Thanks for a super giveaway and Happy Mother's Day!!!-- Robin

The thing I love most about being a mom is watching my girls go through all the stages from baby to adult, all the trials and tribulations that come with the journey.

Hi!

I couldn't find anything along the right bar to log into to sign up for the Mother's Day Drawing or post a comment.

I am a World War II baby along with 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Our Mom was 5 feet tall and weighed 94 pounds, I believe all completely Heart! She was an amazing seamstress and had the patience of Job with us children. I can still see her stubbornly determined stance as she wouldn't let us out the door to go to High School until we had our spoonful of Cod Liver Oil to keep us healthy. The freshly squeezed orange juice chaser never made up for that nasty oil but it kept us all healthy! She had a glorious soprano voice we enjoyed listening to from lullabies to great choir events. Her love and legacy of music and family lives on in all of us.

If my name is drawn, please select the Type by Windham Fabrics. My email address is pearl_belzer@yahoo.com

Thanks, Pearl :)

P.S. Happy Mother's Day to you all!

I love that my mum made clothes for me when I was a little one. I was ecstatic when my brother found these clothes during a remodel in the house where we grew up which means that I can now dress my own daughters in these same clothes!

I like both fabric bundles - I already have some of the Andover - bought it to make a quilt for my brother's (the one who found the clothes) soon to arrive little boy!

The best thing about being a mother is watching my two daughters make successes of their lives in happy relationships.

I love my Mum because she has no confidence in herself but is awesome - and since she turned 60 she's decided to become a bit more out there and is really living life to the full! Both fabrics are gorgeous - I can't choose!

Thank you for a lovely giveaway. I couldn't decide between the bundles so I would like a surprise please. I think the best thing about being a mummy is when everyone is happy and getting along, which is quite rare in our house full of teenagers. Also, love from your children is like no other, just heart melting.

The best part about being a mom is that I like it--I never wanted children (even though my husband did) and I was very angry when I found out I was pregnant. I knew I would be a good mother I just didn't know I would love it and look forward to doing it again (which will happen in mid October if everything goes as planned)!

Seven kids? Holy moly! I'm yet to be a mom and the thought of seven makes my jaw drop. You are AMAZING.

I would love to win the 'type' bundle if I am chosen. I love all the prints and would make the popular 241 bag from it. I'm into text / type things, so it'll be a match made in heaven :)

The best thing about my mom was that she really danced to the her own drum. She taught us it was more about the inside of a person than the outside. She was ok with tattoos, as long as you truly own them. She made us pancakes in winter, but also had us pack our own lunches. Independence was important to her, so she made sure that was something we valued in ourselves and others.

Thank you for the great giveaway and the chance to win.

It wasn't until I became a mother myself that I think I truly appreciated my mum (as we say in Australia!).

It was my first mother's day that I rang her in tears, so emotional (probably hormonal) and told her how much I loved her, how I finally understood all the selfless acts, time, commitment, angst (come on I'm a girl - there was teen angst) that she did for me. I also realised how much she loved me and the real connection you have with your own children. You do and will love them forever.

So yes it was a very emotional day. What do I love about my mum - everything! What do I love about being a mum - everything! (even the hard moments)

My mom is pretty fantastical too. What I love most about my mom is that she's always got the answers. We have always had a super close relationship and when you're down or ticked off about something you can always count on her telling you, "You're pretty." For some reason it makes you laught and smile and simmer down a little bit.
What I love about being a mom is everything! From the messed up clothes to the lack of showers and the constant up down up down, I just love my little person. Even when I'm having a rough day she'll just come up to me randomly and just give me kisses and everything is all better. It's a great feeling knowing that she loves me too.

Ooooh, that Type bundle is pretty! My favorite part of being a mom is how much I love those spontaneous moments with my girls. You just never know what they are going to say or do! They make me laugh.

As a Mom, I am enjoying the moments of cuddling a newborn!

I have always loved fabric with words so Type gets my vote.

I love my mom because I cannot think of a single better person I have ever met in my life. Shes loving and caring, generous, annoying, nosey, fun.... all the things I need in my life stuffed in one person.

There are so many "best" things about being a mom. One of them that I truly cherish are the moments when my littles run up to me and hug my leg and won't let go. Those spontaneous hugs and kisses get me...every. single. time.

I love their smiles and hugs! They make the screaming, fighting days more bearable.

There are many Things that I love about my mom one of the things that she did is she always stuck little notes in my lunch to tell me that she was thinking of me or when I went to basketball camps she put them in my luggage she also made sure we had our favorite snacks around the house and she was a good example of thinking about others.

I love my Mom because she is always giving to others and never expects or asks for anything in return. I love being a mom because I have two wonderful grown boys (I mean men) who make me very proud. Thank you! anglanouette(at)gmail(dot)com

My parents divorced when I was very young so my mom had to take care of my sister and me. Now that I am grown with kids of my own I appreciate all that she had to do to give us everything. She worked a lot of hours to make sure my sister I never wanted for anything.

what i love best about my mom is she is kind, thoughtful, and fair. Being a mom myself has stretched me and made me a better person and life is never dull that is for sure( I have 6 kids). I love both of these fabric lines and would have a hard time deciding. Thanks so much for the great give away!!

Locally grown is my favorite. Thank you for the chance to enter. Great giveaway. My Mom is and llwasy has been there for me and my siblings> she is a great mother and has done a great job of raising us all to be wonderful law abiding productive citizens. And she has allways fostered my creativity and my sewing mentor

I love their little giggles, snuggling, the funny things that they say, the smell of a fresh-washed baby, and feeling tiny fingers holding my hand.

I have learned so much about myself and about life from being a mom. I'd say that's my favorite thing.

As for the fabrics, both lines are so cute! I can see why you couldn't choose. I guess I'd go with the typewriters b/c chickens wig me out a bit. ;)

Thanks so much for this great giveaway and the chance to win!!

What I love most about being a mom is when my little boy jumps in my bed, snuggles up close and says "I love you, Mom." Such an angel.

I love that my mother made each of us four kids feel special in our own right and she encouraged us and set us on the right path from the very beginning - she is simply the best!!!

Thanks for the great giveaway chance - I love both these lines, too, but I think I would go with Type if I were the lucky winner. The longarm quilting offer is amazing, too!!

Before being a mom I always wanted solitude and to be alone and was afraid of the concept that I would never be alone again after having kids. The magical part after having children is that I don't want to be alone.

I love that my mom made sure we knew there was more to the world than just the small town we lived in. She gave us the confidence to do or try just about anything, to go anywhere, and the desire to see everything.

Frequent trips to the library gave me my love of reading, too - I am grateful everyday for these things.

Being a mom certainly makes you appreciate yours all the more but I love my kids. I would be lost without them they are precious treasures to the soul!

I love being a Mom. All the laughs and giggles, seeing them reach milestones in their own independence (bittersweet), and of course, when they sleep. Those little angel faces that you know are going to cover the house in toys again tomorrow :) Thanks for the giveaway!

Mike Pearson said...

Hmmmm... I hope the winnings are open for boys who have mom's ;) I love my mom because she accepts me for who I am, she listens to me and she would do anything for me. Of course, all these things are expected for a mom, but she's good at it! I like the "type" fabric line ... seen it online a ton, but never in person.

I like my mom's ability to take our teasing. (To be fair, she gives it back, too!) I know too many people that can't take a gentle ribbing, and in our family that's a recipe for disaster. My mom's good at all the other mom things too-- great cook, loving, giving, a great listener, etc. But I think her ability to tease and joke is one thing that does make her stand out from the crowd (and let's be fair, my mom-standards are high!)

thanks for offering such cute fat quarters!
