Chain Linked Quilt

Today I woke up to snow! The cold and I do not love each other. Actually, I just don't love the cold at all. Forget about what it thinks of me. So once March hits, I consider it spring and don't want to hear about the cold for several more months.
Saturday, however, was amazing weather! The kind I really love. And it was perfect for snapping a few pictures.
This quilt was pieced by my friend Wendy. She decided she wanted to learn to quilt a few weeks ago and here we are! She was so fast, especially for her first. I quilted it up for her using a large orange peel pattern. I think it turned out great! She's so in love and I think she made be hooked. She's already bought the fabric for her next quilt.
I shared another picture on my Instagram the other day that shows just a bit of her fun chevron minky back. I don't know why I didn't get any pictures of it on my regular camera and I'm sure there's a way for me to post that here but I'm just not figuring it out.
I'm linking up with Quilt Story's Fabric Tuesday. I'm also linking up with Someday Crafts & 733 Blog. Be sure to check them out!

What a great quilt! I can hardly believe it's her first. With a finish like that, I bet she's hooked!

What a bummer about the cold weather returning! We've had a few warm days here, so I'd like to trade out the winter clothing for short sleeves, but I don't dare. Doesn't that always jinx things? It seems that as soon as I do that, the cold weather returns and my kids freeze in their new clothing. So now they'll just have to suffer a few more days in their long sleeves... just to be sure! :)

Love the quilt! What a great first quilt! You said you used minky on the back? Did you use batting with that?

OMG those circular "spirograph" designs are so perfect! How hard or how long did it take you to achieve such precision? You use a long arm right? No way on my domestic can I even get a baptist fan looking decent! Great job!! LOVE, LOVE!
