Sewvivor - Lauries Entry

This quilt has been on our blog before, you can read all about it here. It is one of my most favorite quilts because of its different patterns within the quilt and it bright cheery colors. It was sew fun to make.  I am posting this quilt again because I am entering it in the first round of the Sewvivor Quilt Contest which entries close tomorrow.  You can read about the contest and see all different entries at Family Ever After. 

Dapper - Simply Retro

 We are still continuing our Simply Retro quilt along that is being hosted by Jana. This quilt is called Dapper. Camille Roskelley has it made up two different ways in her book, one with just two different fabrics and one with a bunch of different fabrics. My mom, Laurie, and I both decided to do the more colorful look. 

This is Laurie's quilt. She decided to make it quite a bit larger than it called for in the book. The book shows 12 blocks. Laurie did 20 blocks. It now measures 52 1/2 x 55 1/2. She's planning on backing it in minky. Won't that be a fun cuddle quilt?!

 This little fish fabric is so dang cute! It was the first fabric she found and decided to coordinate all the other fabrics around it. She ended up with 4 blocks in this fabric and just two blocks in each of the other fabrics. 

After seeing how much I liked her bigger quilt, I decided to make mine bigger too. So now it's not finished. I still have the extra 8 blocks to make. And of course put it all together. 

 I'm making mine out of Maritime Modern fabric from Riley Blake. I'm loving the red, teal and navy together. 

 I'm still loving this quilt along even though it's going pretty quick. Hopefully I'll find some time this weekend to get a little more caught up.

Jack and Jill

My goal this year is to finish up some of my stash quilts. I bought this pattern and fabric about a year ago. I liked it so much, I bought fabric to make it up in a boy version as well as a girl version. As you can see, I have made some head way on the boy quilt, I just need to finish the prairie point border, add the ric rac and the sail boats. Quilt it, bind it, and move on to Jill, the girl version. 

 This is a fun pattern and sews up quickly. I love how playful the pinwheels look with the bright colors.  The Jill quilt is made up of soft pinks and greens with a tad of yellow. 

 This has been a great pattern to work with. I highly recommend it for your next baby quilt. Pattern is called Jack & Jill by KariePatch Designs.
