Dancin Teapots

Rach H. from familyeverafterblog.com is hosting a fun competition called Sew-vivor. Bloggers will compete for some awesome prizes by showing off their sewing skills. We looked at last years entries and were amazed at all the talent out there. We're excited to enter our dancin' teapots quilt into this years competition so head on over and check it out!

Talk about a fun quilt to sew! This started out to be a 9 block quilt but I got carried away and couldn't stop making teapots. I ended up with 20 teapots making the quilt measure  67 inches by 77 inches. This red and black teapot is one of my favorite blocks.
The pattern is called Dancin Teapots Quilt and was designed by Virginia Anderson. It's a paper-piecing pattern. This was my first attempt at paper piecing. It was a lot easier than I had originally thought. I don't know why I waited so long to try it. I used all Aunt Gracie fabrics and a jumbo rickrack edged border. Aunt Gracie fabrics are bright and cheery and remind me of playing tea party with my grandmother.

This quilt looks amazing and looks like it took a lot of time and attention to detail. Are you selling it?

As a new quilter I enjoy looking at your blog and seeing the wonderful projects you do. Your blog is also very cute!

Hopefully I will complete my first quilt soon and send it off to you for the long arm.
